‘THINK on THESE THINGS’ for November 18th

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler

We pray for a change, we hope for a change, but we wait impatiently. Is God not hearing us? We asked. Where is the answer?

If our prayers were suddenly answered, would we be ready? Or would we look behind us for the familiar things, the people, the habits, the routine?

If we were instantly healed, instantly prospered, instantly sought after and loved, then what would we do? Attention, compassion and self-pity are sometimes more important than having everything changed for the better. The fear of being without something to keep us working with the same burden, dealing with familiar pain, can stop us from knowing what it is to be free and well.

If we can envision life without a particular problem we can turn our minds to real change and have it happen. If we can see change, receive it, and know the joy, then gratitude and thanksgiving sets it in place.

Elder’s Meditation of the Day – November 18

Elder’s Meditation of the Day – November 18

“Power is not manifested in the human being. True power is in the Creator.”

–Oren Lyons, ONONDAGA

The Old Ones say the only true power is spiritual power. Sometimes our egos tell us we have power but really we don’t. Great Spirit power is called by other names such as love, forgiveness, intelligence, life, principles and laws. When the Creator uses this power to make the human being powerful, we must stay humble. We should constantly acknowledge that we are who we are. We do what we do because of the power of the Great One.

Great One, guide me to use Your power well. I will use it only to serve the people.

November 18 – Daily Feast

November 18 – Daily Feast

Never be so bent to certain beliefs that it is impossible to see the little things that make life so much sweeter. Sure, you’re going to have to deal with things – that’s life. But if you don’t get down in it and lose your overall perspective, you’ll make short order of the work. When you love other people you listen to their problems and offer them help, but you don’t take their responsibility. You just help. Mothers and grandmothers have always had the tendency to take the whole burden, but you shouldn’t. Children have to learn there is help – but some of it comes from them.

~ Now many things have happened that are not your fault. ~

Daily Motivator for November 18 – When You Care

When you care

The way to be strong is to care. The way to be informed is to care, and to do  something about what you care about.

The way to be competent, effective, persuasive, inspiring and successful is  to care about what you’re doing. Life responds in a positive way when you take a  real, authentic interest and invest yourself in it.

It isn’t what you’re doing that determines whether you’re wasting your time.  It’s how much care you put into what you’re doing that matters.

When you make the task meaningful, it will be meaningful. When you truly  care, and act on what you care about, you’re able to create value in any  situation.

Do what you care about, and care about what you do. Be a real, live, genuine,  original person, and not just an automaton.

Give care to each moment, each task, each person, and each experience. Life’s  best possibilities are fulfilled when you truly care.

Daily OM For November 18th – Children of Mother Nature

Children Of Mother Nature

Trees And People

A tree that is beginning to grow sends roots down into Mother Earth even as it reaches and opens to the sky above, seeking nourishment from the sun and the moisture in the air and in the rain that falls. In the same way, we can envision ourselves as treelike beings, imagining that we have roots reaching down into the earth, energetic strands that keep us connected. At the same time, the crowns of our heads lift and open to receive nourishment from above. Just like a tree, we seek the sunshine and water we need to survive and thrive. Both trees and people serve as conduits for the intermingling of the opposite and complementary elements of air, water, sun, and earth.

We also share creative ways of growing, regardless of the challenges we come up against in our environments. Trees will even grow through rock, shattering it, in their effort to reach the air and light they need to survive. We are similarly resilient, with a built-in propensity for growth and the conditions that promote it. We find creative ways around the obstacles we confront as we move along our paths, moving toward the light that feeds us, just as trees grow around other trees and rocks as they make their way upward.

Contemplating the ways in which trees and people mirror one another brings us into alignment with the reality that we are part of Mother Nature. Our children, and the trees and their children, will live together on the earth as long as we all survive, sharing the elements and serving together to forward nature’s plan. Walking in a forest can be a meditation, the interweaving lives of all living creatures and the planet on which we all take root and reach for the sky.

Today’s Feng Shui Tip for Nov. 18th – ‘Occult Day’

Today is ‘Occult Day,’ a time where old world beliefs meet empowered modern day lifestyles. This day can be considered quite mysterious and magical with energies that travel outside the realm of the natural world. So let’s get advice from Valerie Worth, a most revered alchemical author who tells us that in order to sweeten another’s disposition we should follow this age-old advice: ‘Thus turn his scorn to kindest love; Steal from him the left-hand glove; With shining sugar fill it full; And tie it that it may not spill, with satin ribbons, blue and green; Then when the deed may pass unseen, Hide it underneath his pillow; He shall sleep, and melt, and mellow.’ In other words, if you’re not seeing eye to eye with one of your nearest and dearest, take one of their left-hand gloves and fill it up with sugar, tie it shut with blue and green satin ribbons and then hide it under their pillow. This might be magic, but Feng Shui has an easier cure for this agenda. If you’re quarreling with someone, simply send your Guardian Angel to see their Watcher Angel. Ask your angel to send understanding, healing and forgiveness to the other and envision this meeting. Once you practice this visualization you will see your sweetie softening and the anxiety disappear. Either way, there’s much magic to be had here and this is the perfect day to perform it!
