Hold Everything! After the Uranian and Mercurial reversals of the past couple of days, now it is Juno at 22 degrees of Scorpio which is on center stage by making a station and moving direct (3:58AM PDT). [Juno will remain in forward motion until June 14, 2013.] Juno themes – empowerment or disempowerment in primary partnerships, beauty, elegance, style, equality, marriage, diplomacy and peace treaties, fairness under the law, apparel and fashion design, jealousy, envy, and rage by the small and disenfranchised – are accentuated throughout the day. Making this Monday more tense and uncertain are a caustic, 135-degree connection from the Sun to Chiron (1:44AM PDT) as well as a void lunar cycle in Gemini that starts at 3:58AM PDT (the exact moment of the Juno station!) and lasts over 13 hours until 5:32PM PDT. Be the picture of human kindness during the void lunar twilight zone. Complete odd jobs, but don’t launch new projects. Strive to remain productive in your key areas of expertise as Ceres forms a supportive, 60-degree liaison with Uranus (7:25AM PDT). However, it is easy to remain on the hot seat since Mars is contra-parallel Uranus (9:30AM PDT), Vesta squares Neptune (2:42PM PDT), and Mars is also parallel to Chiron (2:38PM PDT). The main cosmic message appears to be stay out of trouble, and steer clear of signings, legal matters, involvement with foolish investments, and making long-term commitments. Once the Moon enters its natural abode of watery Cancer (5:32PM PDT), shift your gaze to residential and family matters. Cooking, baking, gardening, and clean-up campaigns are back in vogue. Nostalgic feelings and sentiments are rampant. Learn more about your ancestral tree. Film and literary classics capture your imagination as the Moon forms a supportive, 60-degree connection with psychic Neptune (10:50PM PDT).

Lady of the Full Moon
White Lady whose rays shine on us
Lighting our path through the darkness
Round as a full belly
Pregnant with possibilities,
White as mother’s milk
And snow on high mountaintops,
Moon mother who sings to us
Lullabies of imagination,
Cascade through our dreams,
Sail us through the ebb and flow
Of our heart’s tides,
And light our spirits
With your serene love.
Chant: Luna Lucina Lumen Lumen
(The cakes are passed around, saying, “Eat of the Mother’s sweetness.” Then the pitcher of milk is passed around, saying, “Drink of the Mother’s love.” Then the chalice of wine is passed around, saying, “Drink of the Mother’s dreams.” Then the glass of liqueur is passed around, saying, “Drink of the Mother’s song.” Then the remainder are poured out as libations and the silver bell is rung six times.)

Earth, you begin to give forth your bounty!
Like the maiden blossoming into the mother,
Like the youth growing into the father,
You yield your children up to us
For our sustenance and health,
As we are also your children.
We will not waste your gifts!
We will nurture what you bring forth
With the labor of our hands,
That those gifts shall be sustained
Year after year, and that you shall
Never be exhausted.
We will not be ungrateful, O Earth whose life is ours,
But we will give back as much as we take,
For this is the way of balance.
Call the sun to us
You are one with us
(Two who have been chosen to do the work of the ritual take up the rainwater and the manure tea, and carry them out to the garden, where they are ceremonially poured around the roots of the herbs and vegetables. All others follow with the empty baskets, and harvest some thing from the garden, whether a token or a main part of the next meal. After this, each should do some part of the work of further watering, or fertilizing, or mulching, to give back to the earth as much as is taken away.)
Magickal Spell for Monday, July 16th
Spell to Send Love and Light Through a Pendulum
Even if you are not confident about sending healing, you can transmit love and light to a person who is ill or unhappy or whom you know is under intense pressure. The easiest and most powerful tool for this is a crystal pendulum. It will simplify and transmit your own positive feelings and wishes, even if you have never tried healing before.
What You Will Need:
A white or purple candle; a clear quartz or amethyst crystal pendulum (even a small one works).
When To Cast:
At last light.
- If possible facing the sunset, light the candle.
- Hold the pendulum in front of the candle so that the light shines on it.
- Spin the pendulum gently so that the candle light reflects through it. As you look at the spiraling light, project into the pendulum (as if you were looking through a window) an image of the person you are sending love and light to.
- Speak, either aloud or in your head, the words you would like the person to hear, and visualize him or her smiling in response and perhaps holding out a hand.
- Spin the pendulum even faster, so that the color blurs.
- When the pendulum reverses direction, blow out the candle, using your own words to send the love and light to the face in the crystal.
Casting Your Spells
Working By The Moon
Moon time is the oldest measurement of time used by humans and it accords with our natural rhythms in the lives of men as well as women. In magick, we primarily look to the moon for timings.
The waxing or increasing moon from the crescent to the night before the full moon is potent for all forms of attracting magick, for the gradual increase of money, love, happiness or health and for fertility spells. These powers will grow daily as the physical moon size increases, to reach their height on the full moon.
The full moon represents a surge of power that can be plugged into for fertility, that consummation of love or commitment, a major money gain or for launching a creative venture. Also, because the full moon is unstable, this day and night is good for initiating change.
The waning moon helps us to let go of what we no longer need or wish for in our lives and banish pain, sorrow or a destructive influence; a perfect phase for starting diet spells. As the moon decreases in size so the pull that holds negative people or factors in your life likewise weakens.

The Wicca Book of Days for July 16
An Islamic Initiation
When he instituted the Islamic calendar in 642, Caliph Umar, or Omar I, specified July 16, 622 (according to the Julian calendar), as being the Islamic era’s starting date. The year 622 is that of the Hegira, or the flight of the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to medina in order to escape the hostile citizens of his Arabian hometown. From Medina, Muhammad waged a jihad, or “holy war,” on his anti-Islamist enemies, which culminated in him capturing Mecca in 629. The abbreviation “AH” that is often added to an Islamic date stands for the Latin anno Hegirae, or “year of the Hegira.”
Consider making or investing in prayer beads today, or use a necklace strung with appropriate crystals. Muslims finger the tasbih when reciting the ninety nine names of Allah, and prayer beads are used by many Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, and Bahaists, too.
