Daily Zen Meditation for August 10th
Because you grasp labels and slogans,
You are hindered by those labels and slogans,
Both those used in ordinary life and those
Considered sacred.
Thus they obstruct your perception of objective truth,
And you cannot understand clearly.

Not So Deep Thoughts of the Day for August 10th
Not So Deep Thoughts for the Day
- The things that come to those who wait maybe the things left by those who got there first.
- A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.
- When you go into court you are putting yourself in the hands of 12 people that weren’t smart enough to get out of jury duty.
- Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
- It is hard to understand how a cemetery raised its burial cost, and blamed it on the cost of living.
- It is said that if you line up all the cars in the world end to end, someone would be stupid enough to try and overtake them.
- Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

| Name: | Shelby |
Age: | Two years old |
| Gender: | Female | Breed: | Border Collie |
| Home: | Amesbury, Massachusetts, USA | ||
|
I met Shelby a few months ago and instantly fell in love. She’s the sweetest, most athletic and well-trained dog I’ve ever met. Shelby is two and currently lives in Amesbury, Massachusetts, about an hour north of Boston. She’s a huge Red Sox fan and even sports a Red Sox collar!
Shelby loves the outdoors and anything sports-related. Her favorite sports in particular are tennis, Frisbee and climbing trees. When she comes to Boston to visit, she’s a bit hesitant of the city life, but quickly adjusts, especially when I give her a pupcake from Four Preppy Paws, a bakery in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood. She gets along great with other dogs and her best friend is Logan, a six-month-old yellow lab (included in one of the photos). Shelby has charming good looks and wonderful personality. One of the things I love best about Shelby is that her left ear always curls under when she looks at you and nods her head. It’s really the cutest thing ever. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do! |

Special Kitty of the Day for August 10th

| Name: | Phoebe |
Age: | Two years old |
| Gender: | Female |
Kind: | Tuxedo |
| Home: | Jackson, Michigan, USA |
||
|
Phoebe loves to be “inside” anything, her tunnel, the cupboard, bowl or pots that are left out, the waste basket. She’s our “party girl” who will play with anything or anyone who will participate. She loves chasing her sister, littermate, Rachel. She comes when called and wants to be cuddled whenever her “mom” sits down.
Phoebe is a lover. She will lay in your arms, baby style, for as long as you want or the blood quits flowing to your arms. She will reward you with loud purrs for your time. She is very shy when it comes to strangers and will hide behind the clothes dryer until you give her the “ok” sign. She will come whenever you call her name in hopes of food, play or cuddling. She’s a talker and usually has a lot to say. She’s small in stature but has a loud voice. Mornings are “family” time and she will lay on the towels or get inside a shelf to watch you shower. She rides pretty well in the car and likes to sleep on the dash instead of in the carrier. She finds the strangest places to sleep (notice the picture of her in the bowl). When she was a kitten, she liked to sleep in the Puffs tissue box. I hope this gives you an idea of what a special little girl she is. ![]() |

The Summer Triangle Over Catalonia
Image Credit: Copyright: Juan Carlos Casado (TWAN)Explanation: Can you find the Summer Triangle? It’s not hard to find this famous triangle of stars this time of year from northern locations. Just look straight up after sunset and find three of the brightest stars in the sky that nearly form a triangle. Then compare these stars to sky images like the one shown above, or hold up a smart phone running a good sky labelling application. The three stars that form the vertexes of the Summer Triangle are Vega, Deneb, and Altair. Pictured above is a 360 degree full sky projection framing not only the Summer Triangle but the great arch of our Milky Way Galaxy. The image was taken last week in front of a small river that encircles the historic town of Sant Llorenç de la Muga in Catalonia, northeastern Spain.
Happy Wednesday, dear readers!

Even though neither one of these look like my cats, what can I say I love cats! My little baby, Razzy is turning into a Momma’s girl. She is so cute. I have been aiming to take a pic of her and put it on the blog. I just have to put the batteries in the camera, lol! We were playing in the floor last night. And Razzy is still not sure about my husband, she hopped up on the couch. When she did she ran right straight into hubby and she hissed at him. It was hilarious. She scared the crap out of him. He jumped ten feet off the couch, lol! But he didn’t appreciate it the way I did. I told him, she had been trying to get to know him but he didn’t want anything to do with her. So what did he expect. He is really pissed because I brought another animal into the house. We had both agreed that when Kiki and Stinky passed on, we wouldn’t have anymore. But that night I brought Razzy in, we had an argument. He got mad because I brought her in. Then I asked him what did he want me to do put her back outside? He was very compassionate about that, “NO! NO! NO!” What’s wrong with you, you want her to get ate too? I am sure you know the answer to that. I just know how to work hubby, hee, hee, hee! Thank goodness after all these years he hasn’t figured that out yet. But anyway, I am going to put some pics on here one way or the other.
Well I guess I better run for now. I hope you have a fantastic day.

Lady A’s Spell Of The Day: RID OF NASTY ASTRAL SLIME
RID OF NASTY ASTRAL SLIME
After Chakra cleansings in the evening by the ocean or a large body of water like a river
or lake or pond. As the sun sets so your bad fortune will drain away.
Hold a stone or object that you find and feel is appropriate and project all the nasty slimy
and inky feeling you picked up from this person into it. Really focus on letting all your
emotions about it as well and let them flow into the rock. When you have done this say:
“I release this astral slime
And all darkness which is not mine
I let go of all that may have harmed
My aura is bright all negativity released
And I am charmed”
Now throw the rock into the water preferably as the sun drops below the horizon and
be conscious of its fading light taking away your bad feelings from this person.
You can do this spell on then first night of the waning moon (after a full moon) for
seven nights if you really feel tainted. Also Place 1/2 cup vinegar, a bunch of fresh
or rosemary and 1 tablespoon of sea salt in your bath. Light a white and a blue candle.
Imagine yourself surrounded by blue light, giving you positive energy.
Visualize all of the negative energy and astral slime leaving your body through every pore.
