Focus On Inner Stillness
In the eye of a storm there is stillness. However chaotic, difficult or painful things appear, there remains a still point, an emptiness, at the core of your being where you can find peace. To find this place, close your eyes and turn you attention inward. Initially, observe the myriad pinpricks of flickering light that penetrate through your eyelids. Withdrawing. Deeper into yourself, the light recedes as you enter the vast space at the heart of your being – a place darker than darkness yet rich with potental, the sacred womb from which all things are born. It is here that you will find peace.

Meditation for Monday, February 6th
A Map of Life’s Road
Perform this meditation to help you negotiate your way through various options. First, sketch a map of the paths available to you, and the potential paths these may lead to in the future. Illustrate each path with relevant images or symbols. Meditate on the map through half-closed eyes. Notice whether particular images draw your attention, or new images occur to you, suggesting alternative courses of action. Allow your inner sense of direction to speak to you.
Alternatively create a collage of your future. Leaf through magazines, holding in mind the question “Where do I start to go?” Cut out appealing images, stick them to some cardboard and use the collage as a focus for meditation.
Affirmation of the Day – At Rest

When life gets stormy, feel safe in the knowledge that the soul cannot be touched by external forces. Like a ship finding shelter in a haven, take refuge in your soul when things feel unsettled: it is the calm centre of your being.
Meditation of the Day – Find Your Reservoir of Calm
At our core lies the peace of our essential nature. To access this inner peace, visualize yourself diving into the water of a warm, calm lake. You slip through the water, surrounded by a profound silence. As you reach the sea-bed, you are awed to see that it is carpeted with beautiful white pearls. Imagine returning to the surface of the lake.You realize that the silence, purity and beauty you have just discovered lies within yourself.
Inner Smile Meditation
Whenever you find yourself in a touch situation, this meditation will give you an instant boost of positive feeling. Imagine that you are looking at your face in a mirror. Watch yourself smile and your eyes light up with joy. Notice how beautiful you look when you smile and appreciate how positive smiling makes you feel. Breathe deeply, bringing that positive feeling to life within you in the present moment.
Welcoming The Dawn Meditation
In many spiritual traditions dawn–when the world is at its most peaceful–is regarded as an ideal time for meditation. Just before dawn go outside and find a place to sit and watch the sunrise. As the sun emerges above the horizon, fill your awareness with brightening hues of the sky and rejoice in the beauty of the new day. Feel the golden rays of the sun warm your face and allow hope to fill your heart and refresh your spirit. You have started the day well.
If the weather is poor or you are unable to get a clear view of the sunrise, visualize the dawn instead.
