A Samhain Meditation for your Ancestors

A Samhain Meditation for your Ancestors

A journey of Memory and what it means to face Death..

We’re going on a journey, that you may find difficult. If at any time, you feel you do not wish to continue, please wait quietly, then turn to the south, and you will see a path leading back to the safety of your grove.

Make yourself comfortable, and breathe slowly from your stomach, and clear your mind of all disturbing thoughts.

Enter your sacred grove and stand in the EAST, for you are beginning a journey of memory. Allow yourself to absorb the peace and tranquillity of your space. You hear a beating of wings and feel the touch of cold air on your face. A Raven flies around you, leading you NORTH-WEST, where it alights on a gate and waits, its coal black eyes watching you. Walk towards the gate and stop. Do not fear the Raven, for it is another aspect of the Cailleach. She comes to you now, to guide you. Put your hand on the gate and open it. As you walk through, cast back in your memory to when you were a baby, a young child and remember something good about that time.

Walk through. There is nothing before you but a black, empty void. Do not be afraid. The Raven flies ahead of you, drawing you on.

As the gate closes behind you, remember when you were at school. As you remember, follow the Raven into the darkness until you come to another gate. Place your hand on this gate, and remember the good times of your school days, and when you were a teenager.

Open the gate, and walk through. There is nothing before you, but a black, empty void. Do not be afraid. Allow the Raven to be your guide.

As the gate closes behind you, remember your first job, your first love. Walk slowly forward into the darkness, remembering the feeling that you had when you left your home for the first time. The Raven circles you and leads you to another gate. Place your hand upon this gate and remember the agony of your first love, the apprehension you felt on your first day at work.

Open the gate and walk through. Before you is dark, a black empty void. Do not be afraid. Let the Raven guide you, for you are not alone.

As the gate closes behind you, remember the first little sparrow that you ever saw; the first notes of a blackbird’s song in the twilight; the first buttercup that you held beneath your chin; the first drop of rain on your face, and the first breath of wind in your hair. Remember the blue sky and the golden sun, the silvery moon and the cotton wool clouds skimming overhead. Walk slowly forward into the darkness, hearing the beat of the Raven’s wings, until you come to another gate.

Place your hand upon this gate and remember the seasons as they changed throughout your life; how each season affected your moods and your emotions; how the snows covered the earth, and the frost killed off the autumn flowers.

The Raven sits on the gate, looking at you. Now you will know and understand that Death is all around us. The death of a bird from the scattered feathers on a lawn, the dying breeze as the clouds move onwards. The Death of the sun as it sinks in the West and its re-birth each morning in the East. Seeds planted to bring new Life, yet they come from the death of the flower or nut. Death is in the seasons, as each gives way to the next. Death is part of Life, as the old gives way to the new.

Open the gate and walk through. Before you is dark, a black empty void. Do not be afraid, for the Raven flies beside you.

In the distance you see a door, of shimmering colours. STOP! Do not touch it. Do not open it. Do not approach it at this time, for this is the final gateway that each of us will pass through, when our time comes. It is not yet.

Now turn around slowly, and gaze back through the gates that you have opened and passed through. You will see a silvery line of footprints that mark your journey through life. And if you look past the very first gate, you will see other silvery lines, footprints that belong to your ancestors. Each gate was a death. An ending of a way of life for you, and each gate was the beginning. Think about Death, not in a morbid way, but as a positive beginning that we must all face. Each has a purpose in Life, and each will have a purpose in Death. Live your Life to its fullest because your Ancestors made it possible. And when your time comes, know that it is not the end, but the beginning of a new existence.

When you are able to accept this, then the Cailleach will be able to give you her wisdom and help you through Life. When you can face Death with a free will, then you will be able to live Life to its fullest, for you will be free of Death’s burden.

Look around for the Raven, it is flying SOUTH, where you see a sunlit path leading back to your grove. If you have stopped along the way at any point, do not worry, for you will now see a sunlit path leading SOUTH back to the safety of your Sacred Grove.

When you are comfortably back in your Grove, relax, become aware of your surroundings. As you return to the present time, think about your memories, and consider whether there is anything you should have done. Something that needs finished; perhaps a quarrel that needs to be mended; or saying thank you to someone who has done a kindness. Life is there to be lived, but remember, none of us knows how many gates we will be allowed to open, before we reach the Door beyond. Only the Cailleach knows these things.

Inner smile meditation

Whenever you find yourself in a tough situation, this meditation will give you an instant boost of positive feeling. Imagine that you are looking at your face in a mirror. Watch yourself smile and your eyes light up with joy. Notice how beautiful you look when you smile and appreciate how positive smiling makes you feel. Breathe deeply, bringing that positive feeling to life within you in the present moment.

Meditation to Meet Your Air Guide

Meditation to Meet Your Air Guide

Create a simple altar with a yellow cloth, a blue candle, and an air type of incense. (Lavender, or mint work very well.) You may wish to place feathers or a bell on the altar. Cast your personal circle. Take several deep, cleansing breaths. Close your eyes. Visualize the elemental gateway to the realm of air. Make the gate as elaborate as you wish. How does the gate open? Relax and focus on your breath. See the gate open, and walk through it. Before you is a pathway woven together out of fluffy white clouds. Begin to walk down the path. Take a few moments to observe the world around you. You can see clear skies to your right; they are a beautiful crystal blue. To your left you can see rumbling storm clouds in the distance, and lightning flashes inside of them. Continue on your way. In the distance you see a figure inside of them. Continue on your way. In the distance you see a figure. It is your guide for the elemental realm of air. Walk to him. Focus on your breath. Greet your guide and listen to what he has to say. When you have heard all you wish, thank your guide. Begin to walk back to the gateway. Focus on your breath. Walk through the gateway and see it close. Take a few deep breaths and then open your eyes. Write down what you learned in your journal, and close your personal circle.

Let’s Walk Together

Let’s Walk Together

Let’s walk on the path together
Hand in hand, some memories to gather
Let’s walk through the rest together

Some hilly curves to climb, some downhill to go
Sometimes roads will have arid leaves, at times covered with snow
But the basket of love will embrace it all, no matter
Let’s walk through the rest together

Some clouds of doubt may hover; a rain of obstacle may fall in
The draught of relief may come, when tough period calls in
But the rock of our trust will flout all these weathers
Let’s walk through the rest together

Our love is so strong; it can stand any pain
It’s caress so soothing; want to have it all over again
It’s passion, it’s charisma, it’s craving,… feels like ether
Let’s walk through the rest together
Let’s walk through the rest together

Have A Wonderful, Fantastic & Beautiful Thursday!

and y’all are going what broom did she fall off, lol! I haven’t woke up good yet this morning. I got up around 10:00 a.m., this morning. I don’t know what time I actually went to bed. We have a large chandlier in the living room. Not to mention I don’t know how many table lamps. Hubby gets his laptop and goes in the living room at night. He turns the chandlier on and flops on the love seat. The chandlier shines right into the bedroom and right into my eyes. I flew out of the bed and had a few chose words for him. He just  couldn’t undertstand why I was angry. He turned the light out and I went to bed at who knows what time?

There is just alot of stuff that has been building up to a boiling point in our happy home. My birthday is Saturday. I had planned on just me and hubby going out to eat and then catch a movie. Well my daughter called and she talked to her father about all of us going out. She is daddy’s little girl, so he said, “Yes, that would be fine. We will even pay for it.”  A 500 lbs. gorilla couldn’t have stopped me from going through the roof. I don’t know what he is thinking. Dumb bunny is drawing unemployment and we have a huge light bill due tomorrow. I have put the money back for the lights and he knows it. I told him yesterday if he thinks I am taking any of that money for us all to go out to eat, he’s CRAZY! I told him to tell “his” daughter that I’m not going. My daughter and son both work and they know their Father is laid off. To even suggest we all go out to eat, still makes my blood boiled.

Then hubby is mad at me because I told him something I saw and he told me I was CRAZY! (Notice a trend here, crazy is coming up quite a bit today, lol!) I had a dream about his job. The dream told me, he didn’t have a job anymore.  The job he took, the person who had it was fired. So hubby automatically moved up. The plant has an outage and this person showed back up. (The rule is once you are fired you don’t ever come back.) Hubby kept telling me the outage was coming to an end and he would be laid off for thirty days. The x-employee was still working when hubby got laid off. Hubby was thrilled to death. He was going to get 30 days off. He could get some stuff done he has meant to do for awhile. Thirty days have come and gone, no phone call and he still hasn’t got a damn thing done around here. The only thing he has accomplished is driving me crazy. He has his days and nights mixed up. He sleeps all day and he is up all night. Last night my furry baby and I went to town while he was asleep. I can’t get him to do anything. He won’t even get out of the house to ride to McDonald’s to get a milkshake. But back to the subject at hand, the x-employee was called back to fill hubby’s job. They are getting ready for an outage again, I told hubby what would happen if he goes. Now I am praying to the Goddess that something else opens up before that outage starts. He will walk in the warehouse. Sees his name plaque is off the door. Sees x-employee feet proped on his desk, he will get mad turn around and walk out the door. For those of you who have not drawn employment before, if you walk off a job your unemployment stops. You can get laid-off or fired and still draw unemployment. If you walk off the job, nothing. I told him that he knows the outage is coming up. Just check the caller ID and don’t answer the phone if it is any of them.  Needless to say, I have been feeling down about that.

Now for the wolf update, I know you missed it, lol! I had been making it a habit to stay inside at night. Then I got to thinking that is so stupid. I am not alternating my lifestyle. I am going back to doing what I use to do. I don’t know who is the biggest dummy around here! I grabbed my little pup and we ran to the store. It was dark when we left. I didn’t think a thing about it. When we got back I grabbed Kiki, my purse and a bag of ice and got out on the driver’s side.  I got all that inside and went back out. We have motion lights, so I was looking at my keys. Then I heard something, you can hear the wolf coming before he is actually up on you. I was already at the truck’s door. I fumbled and fumbled with keys. I could hear him and I knew he was about right on me. I had made my mind up that I was going to be supper for Mr. Wolf.  He came running right down the side of the truck. When he got to me he slowed down a little bit. Thankfully he was just slowing down to move around me. I felt his brisally hairs on my legs. He picked back up to the speed he was going when I first heard him. He went right straight out into the field after a coyote. Needless to say, my heart was beating about 1000. No telling what the old blood pressure was. But you can sit your clock every morning around 4:00 he is on the far side of our porch. I haven’t made up my mind yet if I want to try and get friendly with him or not. I am still pondering if that coyote wasn’t there, would he have come after me?

Well that is only bits of what has been going on in my life. I hope I haven’t bored you to tears. I hope everyone has a great day. If you get a chance get out and enjoy the day. It is gorgeous here. I am off for now…………

Blessings to you and yours!
