A Dragon Spell for a New Start Under Difficult Circumstances

Dragon living in caves beneath the Earth and guarding treasures, are an ancient symbol of Earth energies. Whether your new beginning excites or scares you, the dragon is an excellent symbol of courage.

The Spell:

  1. Create your power dragon, giving it huge wings so that you can soar high in the clouds to launch your new venture.
  2. Set out your dragon and place next to it the dish of tarragon (herb of dragon courage). Say:  “I have the power, I have the courage, I have the Dragon gold. How can I fail?”
  3. Keep your dragon somewhere where you can see it, repeating the chant last thing at night and first thing in the morning in the days before your launch. If possible, add tarragon to meals.

The Wicca Book of Days for July 10 – Hello, Holla!

The Wicca Book of Days for July 10th

Hello, Holla!

It is a Wiccan tradition to pay tribute today to the underworld Goddesses called Holla (or Holda) among the Germanic peoples, and Hel (or Hella) by Scandinavians, Northern European Goddesses who can be equated with the Greek Hecate and the Goddess in her Crone aspect. In Norse mythology, the repulsive Hel, the daughter of the trickster Loki and the giantess Angurboda, ruled over Helheim, the realm of those who had not died as warriors. The Germanic Holla had redeeming features, such as the power to infuse newborns with souls released from her dark land.

The Silvery Moon

Look up at a clear night sky and you’ll see why the color that corresponds to the moon is silver. The qualities associated with silver are therefore lunar such as dreamy intuition and mystical insight. Develop these characteristics within yourself today by wearing silvery hues.

Good Tuesday Morning To All My Lovely Friends!

Friendship Images, Quotes, Comments, Graphics

Good Morning, my lovely friends! Lovely? Huh, don’t ask!  You know it is going to be one of those mornings when you find yourself drinking milk and eat cookies for breakfast. On the main page, were the pics alternate, you have to have a huge image to fit there. Well I have been playing in Bing for probably about an hour to find such a pic. I am scared to death to think there are two more slots for featured articles.

But seriously, I put on a new article about Hecate. In the process, I got to posting the “Charge to the Dark Goddess” and some poetry. So I got to thinking why not start the day off with the “Charge To The Goddess?” That is one piece of work, I can never get enough of reading.

Have a very blessed day, my precious friends!

The Charge Of The Goddess

Author Unknown

Whenever  ye have need of any thing, once in the month, and better it be when the moon is full, then shall ye assemble in some secret place and adore the spirit of She, who is Queen of all witches. There shall ye assemble, ye who are fain to learn all sorcery, yet have not won its deepest secrets; to these will She teach things that are yet unknown.  And ye shall be free from slavery; and as a sign that ye be really free, ye shall be naked in your rites; and ye shall dance, sing, feast, make music and love, all in Her praise. For Hers is the ecstasy of the spirit, and Hers also is joy on earth; for Her law is love unto all beings. Keep pure your highest ideal; strive ever towards it; let naught stop you or turn you aside. For Hers is the secret door which opens upon the land of youth and Hers is the cup of wine of life, and the cauldron of Cerridwen, which is the Holy Grail of immortality.  She is the gracious goddess, who gives the gift of joy unto the heart of man. Upon earth, She gave the knowledge of the spirit eternal; and beyond death, She gives peace and freedom, and reunion with those who have gone before. Nor does She demand sacrifice, for behold, She is the mother of all living, and Her love is poured out upon the earth.

She who is the beauty of the green earth, and the white moon among the stars, and the mystery of the waters, and the desire of the heart of man, calls unto thy soul. Arise, and come unto Her. For She is the soul of nature, who gives life to the universe, from Her all things proceed, and unto Her all things must return; and before Her face, beloved of gods and men, let thine innermost divine self be enfolded in the rapture of the infinite. Let Her worship be within the heart that rejoiceth; for behold, all acts of love and pleasure are Her rituals. And therefore let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you. And thou who thinkest to seek Her, know thy seeking and yearning shall avail thee not unless thou knowest the mystery; that if that which thou seekest thou findest not within thee, then thou wilt never find it without thee.  For behold, She has been with thee from the beginning; and She is that which is attained at the end of desire.

 The Charge Of The Goddess

Listen to the words of the Great Mother: She, Who was of old also called among mortals, Artemis, Astarte, Athene, Dione, Melusine, Aphrodite, Cerridwen, Dana, Arionrhod, Isis, Bride, and by many other Names:

Whenever ye have need of anything, once in the month and better it be when the Moon is Full, then shall ye assemble in some secret place and adore the Spirit of Me, Who am Queen of all the Witches.

There shall ye assemble, ye who are fain to learn all sorcery yet have not won
its deepest secrets; to these will I teach things that are as yet unknown. And
ye shall be free from slavery, and as a token that ye be really free, ye shall
be naked in your rites and ye shall dance, sing, feast, make music and love all
in My praise. For Mine is the ecstasy of the Spirit and Mine also is joy upon
Earth, for My love is law unto all beings.

Keep pure your Highest Ideals; strive ever toward them, let naught stop you nor turn you aside, for Mine is the secret door which opens upon the door of youth. And Mine is the Cup of the Wine of Life and the Cauldron of Cerridwen, which is the Holy Grail of Immortality.

I am the Gracious Goddess, Who gives the gift of joy unto the hearts of men and women. Upon Earth I give knowledge of the Spirit Eternal and beyond death I give peace, freedom and reunion with those who have gone before. Nor do I demand sacrifice, for behold, I am the Mother of all living and My love is poured out upon the Earth.

Hear ye the words of the Star Goddess, She in the dust of Whose feet are the
hosts of heaven, Whose body encircles the Universe…

I am the beauty of the green Earth, and the white Moon among the stars, and the
mysteries of the waters, and the desire in the hearts of humans.

Call unto thy soul, arise and come unto Me, for I am the Soul of Nature, Who
gives life to the Universe. From Me all things proceed and unto Me all things
must return. And before My face, beloved of Gods and of humans, let thine
innermost divine self be enfolded in the rapture of the Infinite.
Let My worship be within the heart that rejoiceth, for behold, all acts of love
and pleasure are My rituals. And therefore let there be beauty and strength,
power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence with you. And
thou, who thinkest to seek for Me, know that the seeking and yearning shall
avail thee not unless thou knowest the Mystery: that if that which thou seekest,
thou findest not within thee, thou shalt never find it without thee. For behold,
I have been with thee from the beginning and I am that which is attained at the
end of desire.

And last but not least……

The Small Charge of the Goddess

By Doreen Valiente

I who am the beauty of the green earth and the white moon among the stars and the mysteries of the waters, I call upon your soul to arise and come unto Me.  For I am the soul of nature that gives life to the universe.  From Me all things proceed and unto Me they must return.  Let My worship be in the heart that rejoices, for behold — all acts of love and pleasure are My rituals.  Let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you.  And you who seek to know Me, know that you seeking and yearning will avail you not, unless you know the Mystery: for if that which you seek, you find not within yourself, you will never find it without.  For behold, I have been with you from the beginning, and I am that which is attained at the end of desire.

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’ for July 9th

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler

We have often heard it said that God never closes one door unless He opens another. It is a great comfort to know we never really lose when we believe, for any defeat can be turned to good if we will absorb the lesson in it.

And yet, how often we refuse to go through that door that has been opened for us. It is so much easier to stand back and wail about the closed one. There seems to be a certain amount of glorification in defeat. It is a subtle something that hides in us and keeps us from doing well that which we know we are capable of doing. If we show strength, we are afraid we will have to stand alone.

Sometimes a door will close for us because that particular one would have caused us more unhappiness, but it never closes for punishment. God is love and love does not punish, nor does it have any power but to give what is right and good for us. With this knowledge, we can be grace walk through those doors that open to us and know it is right.

Elder’s Meditation of the Day July 9

Elder’s Meditation of the Day July 9

“We have to educate ourselves to know who we are. That’s what I mean when I say, ‘Teach the children.'”

–Eddie Benton-Banai, OJIBWAY

It is only by knowing ourselves that we can get in touch with our power. It is said, “Tell me what you know about yourself and I’ll tell you what you know about God. Tell me what you know about God and I’ll tell you what you know about yourself.” As we increase knowledge of ourselves, as we choose to grow spiritually, as we clean up our act, then we can teach the children.

My Creator, You have said “Know thyself.” Today let me see the wisdom of this Truth. Give me Your insight of myself. I am always walking the talk and most people can see it. Today, help and guide me on the Red Road.

July 9 – Daily Feast

July 9 – Daily Feast

When people are secure, they can let someone else have the credit for doing something worthwhile and not complain. Sooner or later, the truth comes out anyway. Life always balances the credit. People have thought many times they were getting something for nothing – but listen, nothing stands for nothing. There is always compensation. Call it what it is. The only thing we don’t pay for is love, real love, which the Cherokee calls a da ge yu di. What we give, we receive. Life is reciprocal, it requires us to do the best we can and to leave judgment and balancing to Him Who works out all things to their perfection.

~ Tell your people….that since we were promised we should never be removed, we have moved five times. ~

Daily Motivator for July 9 – Point the way forward

Point the way forward

Don’t let the worst of life get to you. Instead, let the best of life shine  through you.

Let your attitude be based on your most positive vision rather than on what  may or may not happen. When the world threatens to bring you down, choose to  lift the world up.

Set a positive, purposeful agenda for the day and then follow through with  action. Show all of life how beautiful and meaningful it can be by the way you  live it.

There is enough dismay in the world without you adding to it. Do what is  necessary to add to the joy, love, achievement and fulfillment.

Choose to be aggressively, respectfully and authentically positive. Point the  way forward with your attitude and your actions.

Change life for the better by the way you look at it and by the way you live  it. See the best, be your best, and make your world the best it can be.

Daily OM for July 9 – Returning To Creative Dreams

Returning to Creative Dreams

Return and Reclaim

by Madisyn Taylor

Take the time to reclaim your creativity and watch your life blossom as a result.

As children, many of us entertained fantasies or even goals of being an actor, singer, dancer, artist, or musician. In some cases, we received enough encouragement to develop our abilities in those creative arenas, but somewhere along the way we stopped. This stopping may have been due to circumstances beyond our control or to our own unconscious acts of self-sabotage. Being creative can be scary in a world that seems to value logic over imagination and practicality over dreaming. We can forgive ourselves for shutting down or turning our attention away from our inner artist, but perhaps we can also take steps to reclaim our dreams.

In certain times and places, developing a creative ability was considered an important part of being a well-rounded human being. It was not necessary to be a professional or a masterly genius, because the act of creativity was valued in and of itself. It gifts are manifold—from the sheer pleasure of allowing our imaginations free reign to sharing and enjoying the fruits of our labor. Children share drawings and songs freely, without self-consciousness, and there is no reason why we cannot do the same thing. You may already be remembering some lost form of expression, such as making jewelry or writing songs. Your soul may be responding with an energetic lift as it feels its way back to a time when it was allowed to express itself freely. Your brain, on the other hand, may be throwing up obstacles, like the idea that you are too old or do not have the time.

The truth is, you are not too old, and if you have time to pick up a pen, you have time to make a doodle or write a haiku. Recognize that the obstacles you find before you have arisen from a place of fear and that they will wane in power every time you do something creative. Each creative act takes you deeper into a realm of beauty and magic, a realm that you have every right to return to and reclaim.

Lighten Up – Circle Etiquette

Circle Etiquette

Never summon Anything you can’t banish.

Never put asafoetida on the rocks in the sweat lodge.

Do not attempt to walk more than 10 paces while wearing all of your ritual jewelry, dream bags and crystals at the same time.

When proposing to initiate someone, do not mention the Great Rite, leer, and say, “Hey, your trad or mine?”

Never laugh at someone who is skyclad. They can see you, too.

Never, ever set the Witch on fire.

Looking at nifty pictures is not a valid path to mastering the ancient grimoires. Please read thoroughly and carefully from beginning to end so that your madness and gibberings will at least make some sense.

A good grasp of ritual and ritual techniques are essential! In the event of a random impaling, or other accidental death amongst the participants, (see next rule) a quick thinker can improvise to ensure successful completion of the Rite. Make them another sacrifice, Demons like those.

Watch where you wave the sharp pointy items.

Avoid walking through disembodied spirits.

Carry an all purpose translators dictionary in case the ritual leader begins talking in some strange and unknown language.

Avoid joining your life force to anything with glowing red eyes.

If asked to sign a contract or pact and you are experiencing doubts or reservations, sign your neighbors name. Malevolent entities rarely ask for photo ID.

Blood is thicker than water. Soak ritual garments an extra 30-45 minutes.

While drunken weaving may be mistaken for ecstatic dancing, slurring the names of Deities is generally considered bad form.
