Here is a handy-dandy moisturizer that you can make at home:
1 tablespoons herbal infusion (rose, lavender, marigold mint)
1 teaspoon honey
1 tablespoon vegetable glycerine or 2 tablespoons cocoa butter
A few drops essential oil (any kind), optional
To an herbal infusion, add honey and vegetable glycerin or cocoa butter. You can add a few drops of essential oil of your choice. Choose a herb that appeals to your senses and that you find pleasing.
Apply the following herbal mask and allow it to set for 10 minutes.
1 tablespoon comfrey leaves, chopped
1 tablespoon chamomile, chopped
1/2 cup boiled water
3 tablespoons yogurt or powdered oatmeal (grind in a blender or coffee grinder).
Infuse comfrey leaves and chamomile in boiled water. Cover and steep 10 minutes before straining. Add to yogurt or oatmeal and apply liberally on your face and neck. Lie down and cover your eyes with a cotton ball dipped in the leftover infusion (put on relaxing, soft music as you wait for it to set). Rinse and apply an herbal toner.
This vinegar can either be used in spells or it can be given as a lovely hostess gift.
All you need is:
8 to 10 fresh herb sprigs
1 quart good quality white vinegar
1 quart-sized glass canning jar with lid
Gift jars or small bottles
Fill a one-quart Mason jar with the following:
2 slices orange
2 slices lemon
2 slices lime
Fresh mint from the garden
Fresh lemon balm from the garden
Fresh hyssop from the garden
1 fresh rosemary sprig
1 fresh basil sprig
Pack jar with the herbs as full as you like. Boil spring water (enough to fill the jar). Pour into Mason jar (note: please use a canning jar or Pyrex brand glass container as these can withstand the boiling water). Make sure the jar is warm before pouring in the boiling water. Allow mixture to cool completely. Strain. Pour Liquid into a sterilized jar or bottle. Keep in refrigerator. Potent for three days.
1/2 gallon 90-proof alcohol
1 ounce lavender essential oil
1 dram lemon essential oil
1 dram citrus (such as tangerine or bergamot) essential oil
1 dram lime essential oil
1/2 dram clove essential oil

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for Everyone:
49: Revolutionary Change
Sunday, May 8th, 2011
General Meaning: According to Chinese symbolism, the juxtaposed elements of this hexagram are fire under water. Fire evaporates water, and water puts out fire. Change can cause conflict; conflict brings about change. This hexagram refers to that time in the cycle of human affairs when things need stirring up, and when the hint of dramatic change is in the air.
In order to succeed, revolutionary change must be in alignment with certain unchanging laws. The process must begin at the right moment, gather support from a broad base of people, be guided by sincere and capable leadership and — most important of all — must address a real need. The strength of the forces of change will always be in proportion to the urgency of the need being championed. This is true whether the revolution is in government, in business, in education or in one’s personal affairs.
Revolutionary change points to a time when chaos arises from order. It is important to realize that not all order is good, not all chaos bad. Chaos, in fact, is an integral part of the way of things — as any parent (and modern science) will confirm. Have the courage to radically change and renew the way you present yourself. In this way, you can summon chaos to your cause, and you will unleash a new power on your behalf. If engaging in a negotiation, change the rules; if composing a piece of music, add the unexpected; if courting a lover, dare to be unconventional.
In periods of drought, even wild storms are preferable to yet another sunny day.
Today’s Tarot Card for Everyone:
This Tarot Deck: Gendron
Traditionally, the card usually entitled the Chariot points to a triumphal feeling of freedom, as if the charioteer is being paraded through the streets as a hero (or heroine). The card reflects congratulations for high achievement, and serves as a sign of empowerment.
Huge wheels and frisky steeds speed the rate at which the driver’s willpower can be realized. This kind of charge makes more of the world accessible to anyone ambitious enough to seize the Chariot’s reins. But there is danger in this feeling of freedom, because of the increased rate of change and its power to magnify mistakes in judgment. As a seasoned warrior, the Charioteer is called upon to be extra attentive to the way ahead.
The tentative Cancer Moon highlights our uncertainty about having too much forward movement in our lives. We may worry about other people’s reactions and could be tempted to slow down or even retreat. However, when we stop to consider someone else’s feelings, five impulsive Aries planets push us ahead again. Still, the Moon’s discordant square to the Aries planetary cluster makes action as uncomfortable as inaction. Middle ground is hard to find.
You mean well, but sometimes others still perceive you as being insensitive. However, today you are so connected to the moods of those around you that you might attempt to fix a difficult situation in order to make everyone feel better. You could appear to be someone’s champion at first, but assuming responsibility for another person’s emotions can lead to dependency issues and power struggles. Be a good friend without taking over.
You can take a good feeling too far now that the Moon squares your key planet Venus and excessive Jupiter. Unfortunately, you probably won’t get away with overdoing anything today because instant karma is lurking just around the corner, ready to make you pay the price for ill-considered behavior. It is wise to acknowledge your limits prior to going over them. Don’t do anything you might later regret.
It’s been challenging to relax lately, but you will find your groove today, even if it’s a bumpy ride along the way. You are able to better comprehend what works for you, inspiring you to focus on your skills, rather than on your weaknesses. Pay attention so you know when to call it quits. Remember that taking the smartest idea to an extreme can turn the feeling of a job well done into one of dissatisfaction. Observing the emotional weather helps you to know when to stop pushing.
Your emotional needs can be quite overwhelming now that the Moon is visiting your sign. Fortunately, you shouldn’t have too much of a problem requesting something that you want. However, you could create trouble if you demand too much. Even if you don’t ask for anything, you may feel frustrated because you want more than you receive. But this isn’t the best time to be overly needy. Instead of being melodramatic, be grateful for the blessings you already have in your life.
Your recent creative cycle may be coming to an end, elevating the significance of current events. It’s crucial to complete unfinished projects prior to beginning something new. Exercise caution because you might overlook what’s really happening; being eager for success is not the same as idealizing a new opportunity. You will be best served now by seeing things as they truly are and not as you would like to see them.
Although you truly want to meet your obligations while still responding to changing dynamics at work, you could grow tired of office politics and decide not to engage in the games any longer. But your emotional withdrawal is a very powerful statement on its own, for nearly everyone understands that you normally analyze all the possible moves before deciding what to do next. Make sure not to burn any bridges today that you might want to cross in the weeks ahead.
You have mixed feelings about a significant relationship now. You are ready to take charge and do whatever is necessary to reach your goals. On the other hand, you are weary of feeling like you’re doing all the work. Either way will probably leave you wishing that you just listened to the other voice. The easy solution, however, is to keep busy in your pursuit of success without expecting too much from others.
It seems as if everyone is telling you something different now and you want to benefit from each and every point of view. However, it’s challenging to find the right balance between relying on your own experience and learning from others. Ironically, you can best see what’s around the corner now by using your intuition, instead of seeking another perspective. Although it’s usually an advantage to have multiple points of view, today your own opinion counts more than anyone else’s.
You may be extremely enthusiastic about several different projects that are coming to a confluence at the very last minute. But the Moon squares your key planet excessive Jupiter now, luring you into a delicious trap that may appear better than it is. There’s no cause for panic; it’s wiser to act with a well thought-out plan tomorrow than with reckless abandon today.
The Moon’s visit to your 7th House of Partners can bring a highly emotional person to the forefront of your life today. And this may not be such an easygoing relationship now, for you might feel as if someone’s toying with your heart. Attempting to reach a compromise or even bringing in a mediator can raise the stakes on a developing power struggle. It’s your choice, so take the high road and disengage from all disagreements. Stepping back might be the simplest answer of all.
You may feel as if you’re in the midst of intense passions today, tempting you to seek solace in a more intellectual platform, for that is where you naturally excel. Unfortunately, the Sun’s semisquare to your key planet Uranus emotionally charges your actions and quickly pushes you to the edge of discomfort. Indulging your senses appears enticing, but it’s actually a distraction from the real work at hand.
Your creative process receives an energetic boost today when the Moon dynamically squares visionary Jupiter, your traditional ruling planet. Your active imagination is temporarily freed from fear and other emotional constraints, so your fantasies can take you nearly anywhere. Don’t dwell on the negatives; dream about all the amazing possibilities, instead.
