Preparation:

At the time of the Full Moon, take your Book of Shadows (one that  hasn’t been written in yet) and some incense (pennyroyal, anise or rue) outside.

Ritual:

Under the light of the Full Moon, draw a pentagram on the first page and under this  write the following information: date, time, place, your magical name (and sigil if you have one),  the moon’s phase and any other info you feel is important. Hold the book up to the Moon and say:

Here as the Full Moon shines upon me, Bless this Book I’ve made tonight. I humbly ask this of thee, Underneath your most sacred light.

The Moon

Although men have stepped upon the moon and scientists have analyzed it almost endlessly, there remains in our collective unconscious a vision of the moon that shrouds it in mystery. And why wouldn’t there be? Being earth’s closest neighbor, having a clear influence on many of earth’s cycles and constantly changing in appearance, it is only fitting that our ancestors endlessly pondered and speculated on our magnificent moon’s powers. The Moon represents the pure feminine nature and the gateway to understanding the mystical world that cannot be explained by science. Its soft glow provides a gentle light in the darkness of night. Metaphorically, the powers associated with the moon supply the seeker with a light to explore the mystical aspects of our world. It empowers the sense of wonder in those open to psychic adventures.

As a daily card, The Moon is indicative of a time when your feminine side and connection to the spiritual world is very strong. Essentially you are “tuned in” spiritually which makes this an ideal time for you to investigate your place in our mystical world.

Materials:

  • A small globe of crystal or clear glass.

 

Initial Preparation:

The first time you starts this spell and every time you wish to use it for a new special purpose, you have to clear and consecrate the globe of crystal/glass by holding it up to the light of the Full Moon, so that the lunar image is caught therein.

Monthly:

After this has been performed, the globe may be used as a charm to procure the secret wish of the owner.  On the night of each New Moon, hold the sphere in the left palm, by candlelight, gaze upon it, and chant:

Crescent be full and crystal fill: Thus my eye and thus my will: Fiat Voluntus Abdita! Fiat Voluntus Abdita!! Fiat Voluntus Abdita!!!

The globe should then be kept in a small bag of leather incribed with figures of the Moon’s phases, and worn about the neck during those days and nights between the crescent and the full.  While it is not being worn, the globe should be wrapped in a black cloth and hidden away.

The purpose of this spell is to find an answer to any question that has been weighing on your mind. To divine the future.

Materials:

A full moon.

Casting:

During a full moon, make a circle using the thumb and index finger of the hand you use for casting a circle. Center the full moon within the circle.

Chant:

“Good moon, Round moon
Full moon near:
Let the Future
Now Appear.”

Concentrate on the moon and ask a question. The answer will come.

WAXING MOON:  
the waxing Moon is the best time to do a spell for growth, beginning new projects, initiation    and enhancement.  
WANING MOON:  
during the waning Moon, do spells to banish evil influences, lessen or remove obstacles and    illness, neutralize enemies, and to remove harm.  
NEW MOON:  
three days after the New Moon are the most powerful times to work spells for growth and    beginnings which should manifest at the Full Moon  
FULL MOON:  
the days just before the Full Moon are the most powerful times for fruition and completion.    Remember that even though the Moon looks Full Moon in the sky for two or three nights, it is only EXACT at the time posted on your calendar. Anything after    that time is a waning influence. Do your Full Moon spell before the exact time listed.

You should take into consideration all Astrological implications, energy currents and    Moon phases. The Moon is the astronomical body closest to us and, therefore, has a profound influence upon us, it is very important to choose a time when the Moon is in an astrological sign which is appropriate for your working.
For example:
Aries/Action – Enthusiasm, Taurus/ Renewal – Sensuality,    Gemini/Communication – Curiosity, Cancer/ Emotion – Nurturing, Leo/Vitality – Determined, Virgo/Organizing – Studious, Libra/Balance -Cooperation,    Scorpio/Sexual – Philosophical, Capricorn/Authority – Ambitious, Aquarius/Innovation – Social, Pisces/Sensitivity – Idealistic.

This phase occurs when the Moon grows from dark to full. In this phase, the Moon provides the proper energy for magickal  efforts requiring growth or enhancement. It is a good time for beginnings, fresh starts and new love and is of benefit in building, businesses, friendships,  partnerships, and financial prosperity. The waxing phase also provides suitable conditions for planting herbs, developing psychism, and increasing physical  health and well-being.

Waning Moon/Chant to Seal a Spell During this Phase

Waning Moon

The shrinkage of the Moon from full to dark is called the waning phase, and it offers an energy suitable for recession,  peaceful separation or elimination. Use the waning Moon to end undesirable eating patterns, break bad habits or to remove yourself from dysfunctional  partnerships or stressful situations. Its energies favor any magickal effort requiring decrease or removal.
