Much of the cosmic intensity from Monday is still present. This is a good time in the cosmic calendar to remind you that solar and planetary alignments happening on a given day don’t just disappear 24 hours later. They remain percolating, but influential somewhat behind the scenes or under the new astro-psychic radar screen. Therefore, knowing that yesterday was murky at best, there is some excitement going on early since Chiron forms a contra-parallel with Uranus (12:07AM PDT), the Moon in Aries makes a supportive, 60-degree link with Venus in Gemini (1:19AM PDT) while only three minutes later the Moon unites with Pallas (1:22AM PDT). The Chiron-Uranus tie is similar to a polarity in the zodiac – which, in this case, can represent breakthroughs in higher consciousness. The lunar ties with Venus and Pallas are very welcome – opening up romantic, creative and social doorways, as well as stimulating the problem-solving set of skills all of us humans have in varying degrees. Adding to the party atmosphere is a highly constructive, 60-degree rapport from Venus to Pallas (3:50AM PDT) and a Moon-Mercury flowing trine (4:01AM PDT). Arts, crafts, hobbies, as well as card, board or word games can give you a boost. There is a need to cut through obstacles on your mental and even spiritual path later on when the Last Quarter Sun-Moon Phase (activating 20 degrees of Cancer and Aries at 6:49PM PDT) manifests with a strong celestial presence. Intuition Pouch

One of the most important ways of strengthening your intuition is to believe in it and to set aside some time to sit quietly and see or listen to your inner thoughts. Traditionally, your intuition is stronger when the moon is either dark or full. At the next dark moon, make an intuition pouch to help you tune into your deepest thoughts.

Items You Will Need:

Choose three of the following oils: cloves, patchouli, sandalwood, frankincense

Choose three of the following herbs: bay laurel, cinnamon, cloves, mugwort

A small glass bowl

A low table covered with a clean cloth

A dark blue candle

A small circular piece of dark blue cloth

A length of black string or embroidery thread

Matches

A comfortable cushion to sit on

Best Time To Cast:

The last day of the waning moon (the dark moon).

The Spell:

Mix the oils and herbs in the bowl and place it on the table along with the candle, the piece of cloth and the string or embroidery thread. Light the candle and turn out the lights. Sit in front of the table on a cushion and look into the light. Relax, calm your mind, and focus on the light of the candle. When you feel ready, place the pile of herbs onto the cloth, saying the following words:

“Open the starlit veil of night,

so I may see with inner sight:

By magic’s art, reveal to me,

The hidden things I wish to see.”

Gather the cloth up, with the herbs still inside, and tie the ends together, so that it makes a pouch, with the string or embroidery thread. Wear your pouch at times when you want your intuition to be at its strongest.

A veil of self-absorption is lifted and suddenly you gain access to an unbiased view of others. This is a rare moment when you can see yourself objectively and become aware of whether or not what you want in your heart is actually beginning to manifest in your life. Traditionally, the Full Moon phase stirs emotion, and this is because when you “see” what is happening, you may become upset if you’re experiencing the “same ole, same ole” — rather than the things you would like. If the Full Moon phase is a disappointment, on the next New Moon it’s time to take creative action in the direction of your dreams.

The Waning (or Decreasing) Moon

The moon decreases from right to left until, finally, the crescent disappears from the left. about two and a half days later the crescent reappears on the right. Waning moon magick should not be thought of as dark or negative but rather a process of bidding farewell to what is no longer wanted or helpful.

Lessening negative influences

Reducing the hold of addictions and compulsions

Banishing negative thoughts, grief, guilty, anxiety and destructive anger

Day 18 – 21

The full moon is shrinking and rises now in the mid-evening, setting in the middle of the next morning, being visible for much of the time.

Use the decreasing full moon for protection of home, self and love ones, for banishing bad habits, phobias and fears, for ending a long-standing destructive or abusive relationship, for relieving acute pain and fighting viruses and for leaving behind the past that holds us back from happiness.

The Waning Moon Half Moon or Last Quarter Moon

Days 22 – 25

This moon rises about midnight and sets around midday the next day. She is visible for the whole time she is in the sky.

Use for protection while travelling, especially at night, from fears that wake us in the night, from phantoms and nightmares, for reducing major debts, for concerns about older people, for mending quarrels and for avoiding intrusion of privacy, for peaceful divorce and for relieving stress.

Day 23 is an important time for healing and day 25 for all women’s petitions and needs.

The Balsamic or Waning Crescent Moon

Days 26 – 28 and day 29 when relevant.

The Balsamic Moon rises before dawn(after the midnight of its day) and sets at mid-afternoon of the following day. She is best seen in the eastern sky in the dawn and very early morning.

Use the Waning Crescent for quiet sleep if you are an insominiac, for peace of mind if you have been anxious or depressed, for protection from crime and harm, for the easing of addictions, for saying goodbye fondly and for finding what is lost or has been stolen – also the dark of the moon for the latter.

This phase occurs when the Moon grows from dark to full. In this phase, the Moon provides the proper energy for magickal efforts requiring growth or enhancement. It is a good time for beginnings, fresh starts and new love and is of benefit in building, businesses, friendships, partnerships, and financial prosperity. The waxing phase also provides suitable conditions for planting herbs, developing psychism, and increasing physical health and well-being.

The shrinkage of the Moon from full to dark is called the waning phase, and it offers an energy suitable for recession, peaceful separation or elimination. Use the waning Moon to end undesirable eating patterns, break bad habits or to remove yourself from dysfunctional partnerships or stressful situations. Its energies favor any magickal effort requiring decrease or removal.
