The oil is poisonous, even in small doses. Pennyroyal oil is traditionally used to treat digestive problems, but it has been shown to damage the liver and can be fatal in large doses. This herb should never be used internally. It is also dangerous for your pets, as they lick their fur and ingest the Pennyroyal.
‘Smile Power Day’ reminds me of the power a smile can pack, especially in regards to bringing health and happiness into our lives. Many years ago I learned an ancient Shamanic healing technique that shares the smile’s power to heal. According to this technique we should visualize a golden light surrounding our livers while seeing a smile there as well. I hadn’t put much stock in this until I read of a Balinese medicine man who teaches putting a smile on the liver during meditation in order to embrace health and happiness. Since this was the second time I’d heard this healing advice, it didn’t take me long to start seeing a smile on my own liver. If you want to detox in a happy way and find health in every smile, simply visualize one on your liver and see that organ as healthy and happy. If that doesn’t put a smile on your face, I don’t know what will!

| Native to the Southwestern parts of US and Mexico, Chaparral Leaf, or Larrea tridentata has long been used among Native Americans to treat arthritis, respiratory ailments, and even cancer. Interestingly, the plant produces a sap that keeps other plants from growing near itself, and while the branches may wither or fall off, the crown rarely dies and sometimes reproduces itself. Indeed, an example in California is believed by some to be well over 11,000 years old. For these qualities it was often revered within local lore, and the Southwestern Native Americans often used the sap as a sunscreen, and the plant in general as a treatment for assorted ailments, including blood poisoning, and liver disease. They also used to the leave to brew a tea that they would use to rid the body of parasites.
Modern herbalists see it most commonly as an expectorant, of great use in treating respiratory issues like asthma, bronchitis, and the coughing symptoms of the common cold. Chaparral Leaf has also been shown to possess antioxidant qualities, believed to help destroy the particles that destroy cells and possibly cause cancer. Studies have been conducted that show the leaf to aid in restricting cancerous growth. While the leaf possesses a great many positive qualities, it has been shown to occasionally react poorly with the liver, and you should discontinue use if you experience nausea, fever, fatigue, or Jaundice while using the herb. |
Bandonyx is the black and white variety of Onyx and is also called Layer stone. This stone contains a good balance in itself and will promote this in its wearer as well. This stone may be used to heal diseases of the liver like yellow fever and hepatitis, but also liver cirrhosis may be treated by wearing this stone.
