Today’s Feng Shui Tip for Nov. 15th – ‘Great American Smokeout Day’

I’m not blowing smoke when I share a powerful and effective tip on this ‘Great American Smokeout Day.’ I know many smokers who have had great success with this tip, so I am happy to share. As always, of course, check with your health professional before beginning any smoking cessation program. Mix one-half teaspoon of cream of tartar (found in most supermarket baking or spice sections) and mix with eight ounces of orange juice. Drink this elixir before going to bed at night. In this particular ‘cure,’ it has been proven that the cream of tartar helps detox the nicotine out of your system while the orange juice restores depleted vitamin C. Drink this every night and by the fortieth day you should no longer have a desire to smoke. Sounds like a winner to me!

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Nov. 14th – ‘Insulin & Diabetes’

Today’s energies are dedicated to a disease that claimed the life of my father and shaved years off the lives of his mother and brother. And since I’ve recently been diagnosed with insulin resistance as the result of a glucose metabolic disorder, I find myself prompted to further investigate the correlations between Feng Shui and my own insulin imbalance. According to this philosophy, disease is caused by an disparity in one of the five elements inside our bodies and our homes. In this case, diabetes relates to a disorder of the earth element since it is caused by an insulin imbalance. Insulin is produced by the pancreas, an organ Eastern medicine symbolizes as an earth element. Earth is also represented at the center of the home. If you or anyone you know suffers from this sugar issue, find your home’s center and observe that entire environment. Declutter and clean! The next step towards health and well-being is to add any earth element to this area. A fresh and healthy green plant, an earthenware vase or container with a beautiful bouquet or anything with the color of yellow or brown (throw rugs, wooden coffee tables) will do the trick. Bringing balance to the earth-related arena inside your home will go a long way towards doing that same thing inside your body. And that’s something really quite healing and truly quite sweet!

Today’s Feng Shui Tip for Nov. 13 – ‘Knowledge’

This one’s easy. If you find that you have a bit of a hard time getting your youngster to read, then here comes Feng Shui to the reading rescue. This philosophy says that placing books or symbols of books (or any reading material) in the ‘Knowledge’ area of the child’s bedroom will stimulate an interest in becoming an avid page turner. And that’s all she wrote.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Nov. 12 – ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul Day’

It’s ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul Day’ so let’s serve a bowl of therapy for the body and spirit. This soup is the traditional ‘go to’ when nursing the common cold, but it’s also a protective food that can ward off the evil eye. Legend speculates that chicken soup can protect from negative energies created by angry, irrational people. In fact, even mainstream medical science supports its protective benefits. Chicken soup contains several nutrients that stimulate and strengthen the immune system while cleansing your aura, especially if you’ve been exposed to someone else’s negativity. Eating protein-rich foods like chicken, fish, eggs and dairy can help one feel more grounded and balanced and better connected to our bodies and to the earth around us. So the next time you settle in with a good book, why not have a big bowl of self-nurturing to go with it? But if soup just doesn’t cut it when dealing with negative people, then this recipe might. Write the offending person’s name in green ink on white paper. Fold that paper in four and put it in a glass, lidded jar. Pour enough honey over the paper to cover it and then tightly seal the jar. Place a small white candle either atop or immediately alongside the jar and then each day for nine days straight light the candle while sending healing and forgiveness to that person. On the ninth day allow the candle to burn completely out while disposing of the sealed jar anywhere outside your living space. Sweet and sour, just like Chinese chicken soup for the soul!

Daily Feng Shui Tip for November 11th – ‘Veteran’s Day’

Today honors all the members of the United States Armed Forces who have proudly served their country. Our vets have protected and served us by fighting to keep our country safe and by preserving our rights and way of life. Since today is ‘Veteran’s Day’ I thought I’d post three ways you can thank a veteran. The first is the most obvious: Just say ‘thanks.’ Just that simple act gets good vibes going every time. If you’re more motivated you might volunteer to serve the veterans in your community in some way, or even drop an anonymous ‘Thank You’ note at the local VA. The last thing you can do is to visit the Wounded Warriors Foundation website. Giving back with kindness, gratitude and love is what today is all about.

Feng Shui TIp for November for November 10th

This is a good point in this calendar to remind you that solar, planetary alignments and celestial events that happen on one day don’t necessarily disappear the following day. Therefore, last night’s Neptune station and powerhouse at 1 degree of Pisces is still making waves throughout humanity. This Neptunian wave can equate with many of yesterday’s archetypes and themes still being played with great magnification.  Of course, today’s actual alignments are a top priority and this includes an early inspirational rapport coming from the Moon in Libra trine to Jupiter in Gemini (1:14AM PST) and a wonderful, enriching Moon-Venus union (6:14AM PST) that may be associated with a rise in loving sensitivity between dear ones.  This glowing sense that anything is possible and that favorable vibes are in control may be an illusion because the Moon parallels Saturn (11:54AM PST), Mercury makes an abrasive, 45-degree link to Venus (12:13PM PST), the Sun forms a feisty, 135-degree contact with revolutionary Uranus (4:22PM PST) while the Moon parallels Neptune (5:27PM PST). This quartet of sky patterns can certainly rattle your nerves — especially the Sun-Uranus interaction.  A Moon-Mars supportive, 60-degree liaison (9:14PM PST) attempts to remedy the situation and create an aura of vitality and strength, but this aspect also begins a six-hour, lunar void zone that lasts until 3:11AM PST tomorrow morning when the Moon enters the intense waters of Scorpio. Keep overnight decision-making to the bare minimum to avoid compounding mistakes.

Today’s Feng Shui Tip for Nov. 9th – ‘Chaos Never Dies’

Today is ‘Chaos Never Dies’ day and I say death to that sort of sentiment! Chaos does die, especially when you help to euthanize it, and here’s how to do that. First, clean your house. This seems so simple but it’s so incredibly effective. Add some green and healthy plants to your indoor living space. Peace lily absorbs excess ammonia, acetone and formaldehyde from the environment, and bamboo and other healthy plants give out oxygen and healing. Of course, de-clutter your space once you’ve cleaned it. Clearing the clutter is the fastest and most effective way of ridding your life of chaos. It will also free up space in your mind for positive insights, ideas and inspiration. Let in more natural light and hang round and faceted crystals in the windows. Lastly, fill your living space with smoke and sound (incense and music) to cleanse any invisible energies that could contribute to disarray in your life. Chaos never dies? I wouldn’t be so sure about that.
