A Little Humor – A Dog’s Letter To God
A Dog’s Letter To God
Dear God, Let me give you a list of just some of the things I must remember to be a good dog.
- I will not eat the cats’ food before they eat it or after they throw it up.
- I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.
- I will not munch on “leftovers” in the kitty litter box, although they are tasty.
- The diaper pail is not a cookie jar.
- The sofa is not a ‘face towel’. Neither are Mom and Dad’s laps.
- The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.
- My head does not belong in the refrigerator.
- I will not bite the officer’ s hand when he reaches in for Mom’s driver’s license and registration.
- I will not play tug-of-war with Dad’s underwear when he’s on the toilet.
- Sticking my nose into someone’s crotch is an unacceptable way of saying “hello”.
- I don’t need to suddenly stand straight up when I’m under the coffee table.
- I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house – not after.
- I will not throw up in the car.
- I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt.
- I will not sit in the middle of the living room and lick my crotch when we have company.
- The cat is not a ‘squeaky toy’ so when I play with him and he makes that noise, it’s usually not a good thing.
- I must remember to lick my butt after I lick their face, not before.
It’s Mercury Retrograde: Election Day in Jeopardy & Turkey Day Havoc
Wild Turkey! It’s Mercury Retrograde!
Mercury messes with Election Day and Thanksgiving

Once again, Mercury goes retrograde as we kick off the holiday season. The trickster planet will spin backward in Sagittarius and Scorpio from November 6 to November 26, putting Election Day in jeopardy and playing turkey-lurkey with all our Thanksgiving planning, travel, cooking and communications.
The bad news is that ballots could be miscounted during the United States Presidential Election, or even worse — Thanksgiving dinner could be sabotaged if the oven breaks midway through cooking the turkey!
But the good news is you can prepare — just as you take time to prepare that big holiday meal, you can also take time to prepare for MRx.
This time of year can be stressful even when Mercury isn’t retrograde, so it’s more important than ever to double-check details, like having your car serviced before heading out for the holiday, and being mindful of miscommunications that could happen with airline, hotel and dinner reservations.
Vote early!
You’ll want to vote early so your ballot doesn’t get lost in the mail, and you might also want to double-check that you marked off the right box on your voting ballot. You don’t want to accidentally vote for the wrong people or measures in such an important election year.
Misunderstandings are possible now, too. So you might hear about arguments taking place in the voting booths or at the ballot counting stations, or over the Thanksgiving dinner table.
With Mercury going retrograde in Sagittarius, one of the most blunt and direct signs, and then spinning further back into Scorpio, one of the most secretive signs, it could get more confusing than ever.
But the most important thing to remember is that Mercury Retrograde offers us all a period in which we can slow down, reflect and learn a few lessons. That theme parallels the whole point of Thanksgiving, right? So go ahead and give thanks for Mercury Retrograde!
But it’s not all bad news. Mercury will be retrograde in the sunny sign of Sagittarius, which ensures we’ll have a better sense of humor if things do go wrong. And a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius late Thanksgiving day adds an extra dose of detail-oriented energy to help prevent too many things from going wrong.
Your Daily Cosmic Calendar for November 6th
Strange forces are definitely back on the prowl. The main reason is a combination of the Sun and Jupiter forming an off-kilter, 150-degree link (6:57AM PST) followed by Mercury halting its forward motion and turning retrograde (3:05PM PST at 5 degrees of Sagittarius) and the Sun-Moon making its Last Quarter Square at 4:37PM PST (energizing 15 degrees of Scorpio and Leo). The Sun-Jupiter interaction suggests that pushing ahead with big moves may be counter-productive. The Mercury station and shift into reverse until November 26 places an emphasis on key Mercury themes like communication, transportation, business and trade, reading and writing, primary education, health and medicine, magic, sleight of hand and theft. The Last Quarter Sun-Moon Phase is a reminder to cut through apparent obstacles blocking your path to worldly success or spiritual illumination. In between the major astrology events of this day, the Moon in Leo forms supportive, 60-degree ties to Venus in Libra (9:16AM PST) and Jupiter in Gemini (3:46PM PST). These two time-periods are more like safety zones of creative artistic and literary expression that carry a note of financial opportunity.
