hexagram09

Something is out of balance. This hexagram points to some pressure that is threatening stability and needs correcting. But if a dam is about to burst, moving out of the way is the first priority.

When a person in a sagging mine shaft feels the earth begin to tremble, it is time for quick, instinctive action and nimble footwork. At a time like this, only extraordinary measures will work. When the roof is collapsing, run first, choose your destination later.

Extraordinary times bring out the best and worst in people. Natural disasters bring with them stories of great heroism — but also looting and rioting. When the pressure is on, powerful moments present opportunities to make positive gains. Everything is in a state of flux. One can either move towards positive change and improvement or towards stagnation.

This may be the moment you’ve been waiting for. Although a current challenge may seem to be more than you can handle, remember that a flood reaches its high-water mark for only a few brief moments, and then begins to subside. Action must be taken now to ensure opportunities for success later on. You will never discover the true extent of your own abilities until you, at least once in your life, dive into a crisis with complete abandon, dedicating every ounce of your energy, every fiber of your being, to the cause at hand.

Dare to win.

The Witches Spell for January 14th – Enthusiasm Spell

Blessed Be Comments

Enthusiasm Spell

This is a gift of good mental health, or perhaps a gift   of the stars. People who don’t get enthusiastic miss a lot. This feeling makes   you glow, it makes your blood run faster, it is the fuel that carries you to   your goals. Motivation is another form of this feeling. If you want to become   more enthusiastic about your life, do this ritual every morning just after you   get up and every evening just before you fall asleep.

Get a piece of green stone. It can be jasper, malachite,   emerald, or jade. Rub it with your hands over the smoke from a little incense   (your favorite) and say three times:

Green stone, green star,   We grow, we reach,   We mind, we shine!

Carry the green stone on your body at all times in a little   pouch. Even sleep with it under your pillow!

Living Life As The Witch – Everyday Totemism

Witchy Comments=

 Everyday Totemism

Does everyone have a totem animal that stays with them their entire life? Some say yes, others say no. Regardless, totemism isn’t just about those “primary” totems. The same person may have all kinds of different relationships and interactions with animal totems, and they don’t all have to last a lifetime.

That has been my experience since I began working with animal totems in my spirituality since the 1990’s. Rather than following what other people told me to do to connect with totems. I found my own path through that forest via a lot of trial and error. I quickly discovered was that there was no set number of totems a person could or should have and not every totem stuck around for a long time.

As I met and worked with more and more totem animals. I created an easy organizational system to help me describe some of these totemic relationships:

*Primary totems are what most people think of when they talk about animal totems. These are your “life” totems, the ones who are around for the long haul, as it were.

*Secondary totems are ones that come into your life on their own volition to help you through a stage of your life or a particular time period. Once their intent has been fulfilled, they generally leave your life, though some do make visits later on.. But even then, they aren’t as consistently present as primary totems.

*Tertiary totems are totems that you approach to ask for help with something specific or simply to find out more about them. If you want elp with a single ritual or untangling a problem in your life, you can find out what totem or totems may be best able to help you, and then approach them for that help.

Any totem animal can be primary, secondary or tertiary totem. It all depends on the nature of its relationship with that person. The particular totem itself isn’t crucial — what matters is the intensity and duration of the connection between the totem and person.

While not everyone may have a primary totem, just about anyone can ask totems for help with more short-term goals, even if you’ve never worked with totems before.

Living Life As The Witch – Even Witches Get The Blues

Witchy Comments~Magickal Graphics~

The Blues

Everybody gets the blues. A feeling of low energy, listlessness, and disinterest, a touch of sadness., betrayal, or even a broken heart can make us feel like retreating from life a little. It’s not just emotional situations that can cause the blues, but physical, mental spiritual and environmental situations.

Physical reason for feeling blue can include minor illnesses or imbalance, overindulgence in alcohol drugs or candy, a lack of sleep or downtime and extreme physical wear and tear caused by over.

Mentally periods of low self-esteem, social isolation, worry and indecision can cause the blues. Over thinking, over analyzing and over eating can all send us spiraling down,

Spirituality, a crisis of faith, feeling disconnected from the Sprit or higher power, and even deep-rooted questions about good and evil in the universe create chaos. Blues that come from spiritual sources can shake on to our roots.

Almost everyone experience the blues with the change of seasons, we say goodbye to summer friends, return to school or work and change out hobbies, activities and routines. Seasonal change is a well-known environmental factor affecting mood, especially the shift from  summer to winter when we feel the effect of dwindling daylight. It causes low energy, a reticence to go outdoors and sometimes a desire to stay curled up on the couch. Environmentally induced blues are not to be confused with SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder, which is a profound medical depression associated with the lack of light.

Other environmental blues could included the heaviness that comes  from working in a poor lit conditions with little ventilation of fresh air, around a lot of electromagnetic energy, or even being around a bunch of people who are themselves very negative and heavy.

Your Daily I Ching Hexagram for Jan. 1 is 54: Careful Affection

54: Careful Affection

Tuesday, Jan 1st, 2013

hexagram09

Affection is the basis of all lasting relationships, but must be channeled properly in order to bring satisfaction, and support the self-esteem of both parties. For example, a married person’s lover would necessarily have conflicted feelings: affection coupled with insecurity. Relationships based mainly on personal attraction, especially those that are outside the mainstream, require special caution and tactful reserve.

If you assert yourself too much, or try to make yourself indispensable, you will only incur misfortune. It is never easier to make disastrous mistakes than when you venture outside the bounds of propriety. If you are in doubt as to whether you should follow your heart or your head, allow for some time to pass, and perhaps the answer will become clear. Initiating any action could bring misfortune. Do not attempt to be too creative or attract favorable attention at this time.

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for December 24 is 34: Great Vigor

34: Great Vigor

Congratulations! There is strength and vigor in this situation — like a ram who has knocked down a fence to free himself from captivity. This points to a time when a powerful force comes into its own and achieves influence.

When a leader finally comes into power, his or her personal strength usually has peaked. Great strength is required in climbing to the mountaintop, but once at the summit, the support of others is needed to maintain that lofty position. A shift in attitude becomes necessary. Raw strength must be tempered by wisdom; to maintain power, a strong leader must learn to give it away, to share it with others. Only then will his or her position be secure, for she will not only be the possessor of power, but the source of it as well.

If you find yourself in a high or strong position, it is especially important to act responsibly and react with care. Your personal power must not be allowed to degenerate into raw force that rides roughshod over everything in its path. A strong sense of responsibility to the collective good of all is the key to the successful exercise of strength. By following what we intuitively know to be for the greater good, we avoid reckless abuses of power that in the end undermine the source of our strength. Arrogance always contains the seeds of its own undoing.

How to Tell if Your Base Chakra Is Out of Balance

How to Tell if Your Base Chakra Is Out of Balance

When the base chakra is out of balance, energy doesn’t flow or moves very slowly, leading to a stagnation of life’s movement. You can feel stuck in a rut and find it difficult to release emotions that become trapped. Sometimes a loss, such as a death or broken relationship has occurred, and a failure to release the associated emotions leads to dysfunction in the energy hot spot.

Common symptoms include:

  • Chronic lower-back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Varicose veins
  • Water retention
  • Constipation or diarrhea
  • Rectal and anal problems
  • Fertility issues such as impotence
  • Immune disorders
  • Feelings of insecurity
  • Phobias
  • Depression, anxiety or panic attacks.

Using the Power of the Elementals to Clear Negative Earth Energies

Using the Power of the Elementals to Clear Negative Earth Energies

Elementals are essential to the movement of energy through the Earth. But sometimes energy lines get blocked because of human pollution such as motorway construction, phone-mast erection or mine working that has been abandoned though the resources are not naturally exhausted. Other causes include major housing developments especially in direct line with sacred sites. Sometimes housing or workplaces are created from old business premises or institutions such as mental hospitals, prisons or warehouses. These can carry negative feeling from earlier inhabitants that likewise sour and slow the flow of energies through the new homes and office. These negative earth energies are sometimes called geopathic stress.

If you live or work in a place of negative earth energies then the building or certain rooms may feel cold or seem dark even in Summer. Plants will not thrive and animals refuse to settle. Children may become factious there or have night mares if the blocked psychic streams are below a bedroom. You may feel tired or suffer a series of minor illnesses and accidents in common with others who live or work there or there may be a lot of quarrels seemingly triggered by no logical causes. Stress-related illnesses are common among workers in such establishments.

One of the best ways to remove such negative energies is to set amethyst geodes (tiny crystals in rock ) around the area and wash them regularly. However, an elemental ritual is very effective and very fast-acting, so this can be repeated every month or so if you feel the negativity returning.

Because you won’t be at a spot of natural elemental power, you can use elemental spirit substances to transfer elemental energies to a problem area, large or small. You can also use the same ritual near the center of your home or business to revitalize the energies to restore good luck and happiness if you have had a run of misfortune.

Living Life As The Witch – Dealing With Grief: Let the Healing Begin

Blessed Be Comments

Let the Healing Begin

The hardest part in overcoming grief is taking the first step because you’ll have an “I don’t care” attitude. Along with pain, you feel a great apathy toward life. That is typical. The first spell work I performed–and still perform–to relieve myself of grief and depression is speaking an affirmation or a devotional daily.

It doesn’t need to be lengthy. Just saying out loud that you’re not alone and that your loved one is still with you in some way is a great help. Whether they have passed on or simply passed out of your life, the part they’ve had in making you the person you are today will never go away. Now is also a good time to thank your Guardian Spirits for their help. If you’re up to it, light a candle on your altar as you do this. At night, thank the Divine Spirit for returning you home safely. If you’re mourning the passing of a loved one, don’t be surprised if you feel a gentle touch at this time. They are close to you.

Dreams can also be important now, although they’re not easy for us to control. However, a deceased loved one will most likely contact you during a dream. This can be most comforting. Try to remember the details of the dream because they may contain messages.

Receiving Help

Since many witches belong to covens, the coven would be an ideal place to start if you feel the need of a support group. And if professional help is needed, you can begin by talking to your doctor. He or she will often be able to recommend a local therapist or counselor who specializes in grief or in the specific situation you are facing.

A note on giving help: If you know someone who is grieving and you’re both part of the magickal community, please don’t do any type of spell work without being asked. This could cause bad karma.

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for Dec. 12th is 58: Joy

58: Joy

Wednesday, Dec 12th, 2012

hexagram09

A joy that is shared is symbolized by a group of friends playing, or a carefree young girl singing to herself while engaged in her work. Happiness is rising within, and spreading out into the world.

Joy arises through gentle means, but springs from a solid inner base. The power of pure joy should not be underestimated. The enjoyment of learning and discovery, for example, has let to great innovation and much material progress. Accordingly, that which brings the most joy into the world — love — is the source of life itself.

If happiness is supported by personal stability, it will eventually wear down the stiffest barrier and win over the hardest heart. True joy is a beacon in the world, and though it is indeed rare, its presence is an indication of great good fortune, both now and in the future. How could it be otherwise?
