Celtic Comments & Graphics

To Banish Anger

You will need one onion, a black candle

Cleanse the onion in fresh water, consecrated by you for your purpose. During a waxing moon, preferably on a Monday (unless you need to do this sooner) otherwise, Monday for the moon’s emotions–Take the onion and light your candle. You can carve any protective symbols you wish on the onion to personalize it or leave it as it is. What you must remember is, the onion represents you.

As you sit in the light of your black candle, peel the onion, layer by layer, knowing that with each layer you peel, you remove one more layer of pain you hold within yourself, one more layer of hate, anger, rancor or greed.

After you have completed your task, and your onion is completely peeled, place the remains in a white bowl on your windowsill in the kitchen. Recognize that the Moon’s power will remove the negativity around you, (even if the light of the Moon is not visible, it’s the energy and thought that is important).

Once you have finished this spell, take a shower, or bath to cleanse and purify and complete your work. Now that you are now cleansed.

A Yoruba Recipe for Banishing Anxiety

A Yoruba Recipe for Banishing Anxiety

Components:

Ham Bone

Valerian Root

Tea Ball

Instructions:

Load the tea ball with valerian root (you may also need a nose plug) and boil with the hambone until the water becomes a tea. Allow it to cool and then bathe in it, or pour it over yourself in the bath tub. Do not wash it off. Take the hambone and tie it to the back of your car so that it hangs above the road, but not drag, and drive to a place of high elevation. If you don’t live near any high elevation, any kind of hill will do. As you drive, visualize the anxiety leaving you in the form of thick, sooty smoke and being soaked up by the hambone.

When you arrive at the hill or mountain, take the hambone from the back of your car by the string or rope. DO NOT TOUCH THE HAMBONE ITSELF. Throw it from you as far as you can and then compose yourself to meditation. Still the mind, relax, and if you wish, mentally ask Yemaya (the Yoruba Orisha of the Sea and Tranquility), or any other deity/spirit you wish to be with you and bless your intentions.

After 10 to 20 minutes of meditation, leave full in the knowledge that you have banished anxiety and restlessness. As with any other form of magick,, banish with laughter or ground with a good meal and forget about the exercise.

The Witches Magick for November 13: GOOD RIDDANCE SPELL

The Witches Magick for November 13th

GOOD RIDDANCE SPELL

Here is another good spell for getting rid of an unwanted suitor.

Take a small square of paper and write on it the name of the annoying would-be lover. Use black ink for this. Many Gypsies also say that it is best to use one of the old “dip” pens and ink, rather than a modern ballpoint, but you could experiment. Let the ink dry; don’t blot it.

Then light a white candle and burn the piece of paper in its flame while thinking of the person running away from you. Catch the ashes in something (burning the paper over an ashtray is a good idea) and carry them out to a hillside (you can do this by putting them in a small plastic bag, similar). There you must place the ashes on the upturned palm of your right hand and hold it up, saying:

Winds of the North, East, South and West,
Carry these affections to where they’ll be best.
Let her/his heart be open and free,
And let her/his mind be away from me.

Then blow on the ashes so that they scatter to the winds.
